SOCAL BNI RECEIVED NATIONAL AWARDS
SoCal BNI received three awards at the BNI National Conference in Pittsburgh, June 12th.
The awards recognize growth and service to SoCal BNI members during the past year.

4 STAR TRAININGS TURN INTO 5 STAR CHAPTER
The WOMBATs BNI chapter wanted to make some changes. They wanted to get more out of their membership even though they had been a stable chapter for many years and the members were making good money. Their first goal was for everyone to complete Basic MSP training, and further, that the members achieve their 4-star ribbon by attending all four Advanced Trainings within a year. Setting and advancing upon this goal has had very positive results. WOMBATs currently has 36 members, up from 26 the year before, with a goal of 40 by October. In the same period October to April, in one year the following progress was noted: referrals up 532 to 726; visitors doubled with a higher closing ratio; 1-2-1s doubled, and closed business went from $387,000 to $600,000. To accomplish these, chapter members have worked hard to hold each other accountable. So far, 20 members have their 4-star ribbon and their goal for the year is 100% to be 4-stars. Each meeting, the Secretary/Treasurer circulates a report that shows attendance at Trainings. If someone sees one he hasn't attended, he seeks another member to accompany him to the next training. Andy Gale, President of WOMBATs, states, "If there is one WOMBAT at an Advanced Training, there usually are 3 or 4 others. They interact in trainings and return to the chapter and give testimonials about the training. We are building some great Power Teams."

BNI is much more than a referral source for me. The biggest value that I have received from BNI is having a reliable network that I am able to provide trustworthy referrals to, for my clients and friends. Each month a member of the SoCal BNI Team is selected for going Above and Beyond. This recognition is for his or her special efforts that have contributed to the success of the members of SoCal BNI chapters. This month, Donna Karson has received the award. She is being recognized for:
Donna has volunteered on numerous occasions to help train Leadership Team and Support Team members on behalf of other Directors.
Donna is always willing to share ideas with our Director and Ambassador Team and she volunteers to give presentations at our monthly Team meeting.
Donna has stepped in on several occasions to assist other Directors with their chapter visitor days.
She is a true professional when working with the chapters and members that she supports.
The chapters that Donna supports have all increased their Thank You For Closed Business since she has been working with them. She is helping to bring more value to the members.
As a Training Director, Donna consistently receives positive feedback on the trainings that she facilitates.
Donna is always “in-tune” with what is going on in her chapters and she communicates frequently with our Regional office to make sure that everyone is on the same page.
She is a great role model for the Ambassadors with whom she works. She makes them part of her team and leads by example.
